Columbine Massacre, April 20, 1999
The Columbine High School massacre took place on April 20, 1999, in Littleton, Colorado, when Eric Harris (18) and Dylan Klebold (17) carried out a mass shooting and attempted bombing at their school. They killed 13 people (12 students and one teacher) and injured 24 others before taking their own lives in the school library.

2. Daniel Rohrbough (15) – Shot on the sidewalk leading to the west entrance.
3. Dave Sanders (47, teacher/coach) – Shot in the hallway near the science rooms; succumbed to his injuries hours later.

2. Brian Anderson (16) – Injured by flying glass and debris from gunfire.
3. Patti Nielson (35, teacher) – Hit by shrapnel while running to call 911.

4. Lance Kirklin (16) – Shot five times, including in the face, arm, and leg.
5. Sean Graves (15) – Shot in the back and abdomen, partially paralyzed.

11. Patrick Ireland (17) – Shot twice in the head and once in the foot; managed to crawl out a window to safety.

14. Nicole Nowlen (16) – Shot in the abdomen.
15. Jennifer Doyle (17) – Shot in the hand, shoulder, and neck.
16. Kacey Ruegsegger (17) – Shot in the shoulder, hand, and neck.
17. Stephanie Munson (16) – Shot in the ankle but escaped the school.

19. Richard Castaldo (17) – Shot in the arm, chest, and back; paralyzed from the chest down.
20. Adam Kyler (16) – Injured by flying debris.
21. Jeanna Park (18) – Injured by shrapnel.
22. Niel Gardner (School Resource Officer) – Exchanged gunfire with Harris but was not wounded.
23. John Savage (17) – Spared in the library after speaking to Klebold.
24. Craig Scott (16) – Survived unharmed but witnessed his sister, Rachel Scott, being killed.
Timeline and Shooting Locations
11:19 AM – Harris and Klebold begin shooting outside the west entrance. Rachel Scott and Daniel Rohrbough are the first victims.
11:21 AM – The shooters enter the school, moving through the halls.
11:24 AM – They shoot Coach Dave Sanders, who later dies from blood loss.
11:29 - 11:36 AM – They enter the library, where most of the victims are killed.
12:08 PM – Harris and Klebold commit suicide in the library.
Additional Notes
They planted multiple explosive devices, but most failed to detonate.
The attack lasted about 49 minutes before they took their own lives.
The event had a profound impact on school safety and gun control debates in the U.S.
